North by Northwest Surveying (NxNW) is a Land Surveying Company Based in Bremerton Washington. NxNW was initially founded in 2016 by Kevin Biggs to provide Single Family Residence surveying services on a part time basis. The company was closed in 2018 when Kevin was offered the Principal Surveyor position elsewhere in Kitsap County. In July of 2024, in response to the changing world of Land Development, Kevin Biggs resigned from his Principal Surveyor Position, and with Dustin Hill, re-opened NxNW as a full-service Land Surveying firm. Between Kevin and Dustin, NxNW offers over 28 years of surveying experience.
Kevin’s working background in Land Development, coupled with his bachelor’s degree Surveying and Mapping, provides both theoretical and practical knowledge and experience relating to the areas and services associated with the Land Surveying Profession. In his 21 years of surveying experience, he has conducted numerous topographic surveys for engineering design, performed field verifications and survey plan checks, Record of Surveys or Right of Way plans, as well as locating property corners markers, monitoring wells, or other features in support of projects large and small. Whether conducting research of title documents and land ownership records or preparing property and other legal descriptions, Kevin strives to provide services that are cost effective as well as clear and unambiguous in their results. In his time, he has also supported many clients with construction staking services, typically culminating with as-built and record drawings for construction projects from small industrial buildings, to plats with hundreds of lots.
Dustin Hill is a rising star in the surveying industry. Dustin’s background is in heavy construction working on 50 plus story high rises requiring extreme precision. He quickly rose through the ranks to be the lead surveyor for a multi-billion-dollar company. Dustin left his position to return home to Kitsap to be closer to his family and pursue his dream of becoming a Licensed Land Surveyor. Since returning home, Dustin has used his precision surveying experience combined with his passion for photography, military and civilian experience as an air traffic controller and pilot, to obtain his commercial drone license and become our lead drone surveyor in addition to NxNW’s lead construction surveyor.
